Re: Saving Windows Mail messages by subjects
Sorry, both Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail use that unfriendly
method of naming .eml files. There is no workaround. You pretty much
would have to import those files into another Windows Mail program
to see something more user-friendly.

Re: Exporting from Windows Mail
I'm having this same problem and I followed your instructions. It worked,
but the email I moved to Outlook still has the cryptic name. Do I have to
restart or anything to get it to reset the names? Also, I noticed it seems
to reset the "sent" date. Any suggestions? I'm using Outlook 2003. Thanks.

Re: Exporting from Windows Mail
1. Cryptic name? Please explain.
2. Reset dates and times come from importing with Outlook rather than
exporting with Windows Mail. Use Export in Windows mail to move email data
because it preserves the dates and times, but use Outlook to import your
contacts.

Re: Exporting from Windows Mail
I tried exporting from Windows Mail first, but it says an error occurred in
initializing MAPI and I couldn't figure out how to get around that, so I
tried the other route. So far, no luck. Any ideas on the MAPI problem???
