Recipients unable to 'see' pictures sent as part of email
Have browsed various threads but cannot find answer to my problem. When I'm
sent an email containing a picture (not as an attachment), I can see it but
if I forward it (Windows Mail Vista) - both back to myself and to other
people - the picture recreates as a blank white box with a white cross on a
small red square in top left corner. Left and right clicking on square
produces nothing. As picture is not an attachment, I can't save it to
another type of program. Any suggestions on how I can solve my forwarding
problem?

Re: Recipients unable to 'see' pictures sent as part of email
When you get one of those emails with a blank box containing a
small red square, look at the file size of that message. If it is only
1-5 KB, then no picture has been included.
Make sure you have attachments enabled: Tools, Options, Security,
uncheck "Do not allow attachments..." Likewise for "Block images..."

Re: Recipients unable to 'see' pictures sent as part of email
I am wondering if you read the post before you posted your response. I am
having the same problem so please read carefully. I receive an email with a
picture. I can SEE the picture. When I forward the message and picture to
others, the RECIPIENTS Cannot see the picture and when I go to the message in
my Sent box, there is not picture with the message; just the square box
outline, etc. described by the prior poster.

First of all, I was replying to "yoshi", not to you. He said the same thing
happens when he sends the email to himself. That is the symptom I was
addressing.

Also, the settings I mentioned can affect sending as well as receiving.
Please don't tell me how to do my job.

I never said you were responding to me. If you read my post (although you
said on another thread you had not seen any posts with poor attitudes), you
will see that I read Yoshi's post and was having the same problem. I was not
telling you how to do your job but since it is your job and you are getting
paid for it, I would watch that attitude!!!!

We could argue back and forth on this, but that is contrary to
the helping spirit of this newsgroup.
For the record, I do not work for, nor am I paid by Microsoft or anyone
else. Like the other regular responders here, I am a volunteer who
donates much time and effort out of a desire to help others.

Whoa, boys! - let's keep this friendly, eh? Gary - I've seen how much help
you give to people in this group & really value your time and effort.
Brownie - I know how frustrating it is not having your computer working
effectively, so .... maybe we can all work together on this?
Gary: I've definitely got the security 'do not allow attachments' & 'block
images' unchecked. Don't understand how I can receive a cartoon type
picture, for instance, as part of an email but when fwding it on (including
back to myself) the picture is not viewable. Can't identify size of picture
sent in email when I get it; right click just asks if I want to save picture
(which I've done but still doesn't work). I've tried cutting and pasteing
but still no joy.

Yoshi, this is the same exact problem I am having. I have been on this
computer most of the aterrnoon searching unsuccessfully for an answer. My
settings, as yours, are also correct. If you find an answer, please let me
know. Thanks

Re: Recipients unable to 'see' pictures sent as part of email
Yoshi, if your settings are all OK, then the only other cause I can
think of is that your antivirus is stripping the pictures.

In the message list pane, my column titles say Subject, From, Sent,
and Size. If yours is missing the size, you can add it by right-clicking
on that column bar and selecting Columns. I like to see the size
displayed because it is helpful when diagnosing this type of problem.
