Windows Mail sending and receiving

Outlook Express Mail shows if you are receiving or sending mail at the bottom
of the program as it is running. I do not see this on Window Mail Vista, I do
not know if I am receiving or sending mail. Does Window Mail show this?

Yes.
Check to see if you have the status bar shown.
View - Layout
under Basic, [x] Status Bar (I have all options checked.)

I had all options checked. Still the same. thanks

While sending and receiving, what do you see in the lower right
corner, to the right of "Working Online"?

There is nothing at the lower right corner. Not even "Working Online".

Then the Status Bar is not enabled. You may have to toggle it
on and off a couple of times, and restart WinMail.

There is a bug in WinMail where sometimes it does not show all of the
information that should be in the Status Bar. The only fix I have found is
to close WinMail and reopen it, but that doesn't always work.
