I just spend an hour of my precious time deleting about 1,000 messages. I
did everything you said to do and it didnt fix the problem. In fact, I get a
message saying "the update is not requred at this time" or "the update is not
needed." According to the document How to Remove a Stuck Message, the update
has been confirmed to fix this problem. I have to say, at this time, it is
not confirmed for every person because it didn't work at all for me. I
checked, yes, to make sure I downloaded the correct version, 32-bit.

It is very unusual for the Microsoft fix not to work.

Windows Mail seems to be prone to the stuck message problem,
especially if you are running an antivirus that WM doesn't like.
You could try upgrading to Windows Live Mail, to see if it will
cure your problem:
