Re: can't send email
Thanks Robert but I already tried all those. I'll tell you what has at least
"temporarily worked" for the last 10 minutes or so. I went to the comcast
website you suggested for the other person having problems and just looked at
it. Did try changing the outgoing server mail port setting from 25 to 587
but it wouldn't let me connect to my server. But when I changed it back to
25 and tried to send a message it finally worked. I've been able to send
several messages since. Not sure about the receiving end yet. It has been
OK from the beginning though. Who knows what happened! It probably won't
stay corrected but at least I/we seem to be narrowing it down a bit. Thanks
for your help. Just checked out sending/receiving again and both are
working. Who knows???

Re: can't send email
You're welcome. You can probably check out the receiving part by
sending a message to yourself; however, a few email providers won't
let you do that.

RE: can't send email
I also have a new laptop with vista. For about a month I have had no
problems, last week I noticed that when I send an email it goes to my outbox,
but does not send. I can receive mail. When I go to sign off it says there
are unsent messages in my outbox do I want to send them. If I say yes, they
still don't send. I have done the help troubleshooting and everything is set
up them same as it has been. Help!!

If you would like some custom help, right-click on your error message,
copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

And please unlock your Caps Lock key!
