cannot delete an email with out it automatically opening the next

If i am reading an email and decide to delete it, it automatically opens the
next email. I want to be able to delete the email and have it automatically
put me back in my inbox without opening the next email. does anyone know how
to fix this?

to stop the next e-mail from opening you have to go back to your inbox click
the box next to the one you want to delete than click delete. that will allow
you to pick the one you want to open.
