Vista - Windows Mail - Cannot create a second account
When I try to create a second account in Vista - Windows Mail - the new user
name causes a signon box to appear requesting the username and password. If
I type in the original username nothing happens; however, when I try typing
in the new user name I get the following error:

Account; 'mail.optonline.net', Server; 'mail.optonline.net', Protocol; POP3,
Server Response; '-ERR[AUTH] Authentication failed', Port 110, Secure(SSL);
NO, Server Error; 0x800ccc90, Error Number; 0x800ccc92

You may have problems with the way the new account is set up under
Windows Mail. See if this helps:

Re: Vista - Windows Mail - Cannot create a second account
You can't create an email account on the server.... you can only enter the
information to access existing accounts.
Do you have a second account with your ISP (optonline)?

Re: Vista - Windows Mail - Cannot create a second account
I have a similar problem. MS Vista, have used email for a long time. I added
a new user on the PC and am now trying to add the new user to an email
account. I matched the pop 3 information and created a new name for the
sbcglobal.net yet I cannot send or receive mail. and when i open mail, and am
asked for user id and PW, it just keeps flashing back to the square i need to
add user id and pw... any ideas?

I don't know what "created a new name for the sbcglobal.net" means.
Did you follow the prescribed AT&T procedure for adding a subaccount?
