widows mail password

When I open mail it keeps asking me for a password even though I checked to
remember. Also under accounts I typed in my password.

Do you have any third party programs such as Anti-Virus that are set to scan
your mail? If so disable the mail scan option, Spam blocking applications
can also cause such problems.

Take note of all your account settings on all of the tabs at
Tools>Accounts>select your account>properties.
Then remove and rebuild the account.

Did you type it with CAPITAL and lower case letters in the right places?
Some email providers care which you use where.

This problem has started on my computer today as well, I've been using
windows mail for the last 3 months without having to provide a password.

This can mean a problem caused by an antivirus program. What if any
antivirus programs do you have?

Are you sure you typed the password with CAPITAL and lower case
letters in the correct places? Some email providers check this.

You might try entering your account name both with and without
the part of your email address starting with @. Email providers
vary in which they want.

What if any antivirus programs are you using? Some of them can
cause such problems in Windows Mail, although seldom
immediately.
