Windows mail problem

I read the forum & learned how to fix a problem with sending emails from
a website by setting the program defaults, but I have to do this every
single time I turn on my PC. Is there a way to keep the defaults set
permanently please?

Re: Windows mail problem
What is your preferred method of responding to email links
on a web page? Do you want it to use POP email, or Hotmail
or Yahoo webmail?

Re: Windows mail problem
I understand that you have gone into Default Programs and have
set Windows Mail as your default email program, but the setting
doesn't stick?

This can sometimes be caused by a third party security program
which is preventing writes to the registry.

It might be a security program blocking the Registry change it makes. A
few, but not all, of the programs now doing this are:
Ad-aware's Ad-Watch
IBM Access Connections
McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware
Norton AV
Spyware Blaster
Spybot> Tools> IE Tweaks
Spybot- Teatimer
Spysweeper
Spyware Doctor
Windows Defender
Zone Alarm (free) 6.5 Reported to be fixed in later versions.

In the case of Zone Alarm 6.5 or Norton 2007 it actually has to be
uninstalled. Make sure the Windows Firewall is turned on until you
reinstall Zone Alarm.

Boot into Safe Mode with Networking and try the change.
