Attachments

My new computer has Vista and Windows mail. When I send an email with a Word
document attachment to XP users they are unable to open it. What is the
solution?

1. Do they also have Word?
2. Are you using Word 2007, which by default saves in the new .docx format?
If so, save the files in the older format, and send that.

Thanks for replying Dave. Yes, I do have Word 2007. As I'm not very computer
literate, can you explain exactly what I must do to use "the old format".

Click the circle and the top let and choose Save As. Then choose Word
97-2003 Document.
