Server not responding
Hi Group,

I'm using Windows Mail with Vista home premium. Opened WinMail today and
after a while got an error message saying the server (I use cox.net) did not
respond within 60 seconds and did I want to wait or cancel. I said wait, and
did this a few times. Finally I canceled. I thought it was just a huge
download, but I never had one before that would have been so big. Anyway,
when I went to the Cox mail site, there was nothing in the inbox. Whatever
was hanging up seems to have disappeared. Anybody know why this would happen?

Thanx,
Ron

Re: Server not responding
Which antivirus program are you running? Windows Mail is not
compatible with most McAfee and Norton security programs.
Those will need to be uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

Re: Server not responding
Already using Avast. I'll turn off the e-mail scanner. Thanks.
