My old PC was running Vista Ultimate. I got a new PC with Vista Home Premium.
(Both running 32-bit)
I used Easy Transfer via local home network to transfer all my settings, and
all appeared to go mostly ok. My mail transferred (after a failure and
recovery - didnt lose anything) but I was really surprised that my contacts
did NOT transfer.
I tried again just with the relevant part of ET (which whizzed by...) but
still no joy.
Before facing having to re-type everything in, I poked around the disk - and
lo and behold there was folder named 'contacts'. I thought it couldn't hurt
so simply mapped a drive onto my old PC and copied all the files over...
Voila!
Just mentioning this to:
a) help anyone stuck with the same problem - it might work for you
b) point out to MS that ET does NOT do all it should do...
