windows mail: can't send messages

can anyone help me? i can't send emails but i can receive them. this is the
error that i get:
Kan het bericht niet verzenden. De verificatie-instelling is mogelijk niet
juist voor de server voor uitgaande e-mail [SMTP]. U vindt informatie over
dit probleem in de Help. Zoek naar 'Problemen oplossen in Windows Mail' en
raadpleeg de sectie 'Ik heb problemen met het verzenden van e-mail'. Als u
hulp nodig hebt bij het vaststellen van de juiste serverinstellingen, neemt u

Are you trying to use a connection to the server that crosses from one
internet provider's equipment to another's? If so, such connections to
port 25 are likely to be blocked to cause trouble for spammers. In
this case, you have two choices: 1. Ask your email provider if their
email server listens for outgoing mail on any port other than port 25,
and if so, how to switch to the other port. 2. Use the outgoing email
server of the first internet provider on the connection.

I don't understand Dutch well enough to be sure, but it may be
telling you that it doesn't like the return address - either because it's
false or because it's not one of their customers.

hi there, i don't use any other internet connect when i was using windows xp
on outlook express, never had troubles there. the company were i got my
emailadress from came thougter with the company were i now got my internet
from, my friend has the same configuration and has no trouble sending mail.

The mail server rejected the message because the 'From' address on
the message did not have a valid mail server associated with it. Did
you send that message to yourself? Did you use a valid return address?

yes i used a valid return adress, and i sended a mail to my hotmail adress.
Normally, my return adress is correct. it worked perfectly on outlook express
a week ago.

I have the same problem since 2 days using Orange as internet provider. I can
receive mails but can't send any with my account in Outlook 2007 for Vista.
I have noticed that if I am using another provider (Vodafone) I can send
messages again. That means that Orange provider has changed his architecture
which affect the outgoing mail.
The problem is clearly coming from the provider and probably port 25 is not
valid anymore.

So you're saying "armeeman@verstateladsl.be" is a valid return address?

The problem is that the Belgian Whois server says that verstateladsl.be
does not exist.
