Windows Mail comes with Vista and won't work with Hotmail. If you
found a downloadable version, it was probably intended to run under XP.
You may prefer to download and install Windows Live Mail, which
will work with Hotmail, or with a premium Yahoo account:

POP is not a valid server name. If you are trying to use it as one,
you need to ask you email provider (who is probably also your
internet provider) for instructions for setting up to use their email
servers. The instructions are probably somewhere on their web
site. Or, you could tell us who your email provider is and see if
anyone here already knows where to find the instructions.
