Solution to Problem of Not Being Able to Open Attachments in Outlook 2003
In other appends to this group I reported that I could not "Open" email
attachments. Specifically, I could not open .msg and .eml attachments. I
could open some other file types, such as movie attachments. I could also
right mouse button click and save the file, then open with MS Word. The
result was essentially the raw hex of the word document, not the formatted
word document.
With the help of Microsoft, the problem been identified: the Google Desktop
is blocking the open action and causing the other symptoms. As a
work-around:
Go to add-ins: Tools.Options.Other.Advanced Options, Add-In Manager button
and, if the Google Desktop addin is checked, uncheck it.
I'll contact Google and get their take on this.

Re: Solution to Problem of Not Being Able to Open Attachments in Outlo
This solution is for an issue with Outlook 2003, not Windows Mail. WM has
no such menu.

is there a fix for Windows Mail, or is Microsoft waiting for Google?

Re: Solution to Problem of Not Being Able to Open Attachments in O
A fix for what specific problem? I haven't seen a detailed problem statement
from you.

Re: Solution to Problem of Not Being Able to Open Attachments in O
Microsoft is probably waiting for Google. More of Microsoft's work is
going into Windows Live Mail, a replacement for WM.
