Not receiving emails but can send.
Windows Vista
Windows Mail

This is the error message:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'akermann', Server: 'mail.force9.net', Protocol: POP3,
Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

My ISP (force9 now plusnet) states it's an antivirus problem blocking my
emails.
I have uninstalled AVG Antivirus & Spyware also disabled Firewall and still
can't receive my emails, even when I open Windows Mail it shows how many
emails there but can't download.

I found a little on force9.net. You might check if any of it's worth
reading.

It seems to say that if you're now on DSL, things have changed as to what
servers you should use.

Re: Not receiving emails but can send.
I am intrigued by your statement "when I open Windows Mail it shows
how many emails..." So, when Windows Mail starts checking your
mail on the server, does it say something like "Downloading 2 of 12"?
If not, how do you know how many emails there are?
Also, which antivirus are you using?

This is where I see it: -

Tasks:
Check for new messages on 'akermann': 77 (743 KB) total.
Status:
Failed.
Connection:
Local Area Network.

This was done today 12 December 07 @ 10:00 GMT time.

Re: Not receiving emails but can send.
That doesn't sound like a Windows Mail error message.
Are you using Outlook? If so, you will get more help by
posting in an Outlook newsgroup:

Re: Not receiving emails but can send.
Found the answer:

Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, right click on Command Promtp - Run
as Administrator (C:\Windows\system32>) then type in and enter: netsh
interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled

This worked for me and I've retreived all my emails.

Info from Steve Cochran.
