vista ulitmate outlook express newsgroups
My ip is comcast and I have set up and downloaded the newsgroups that i want.
However, when I go to download binaries, i group the files and make sure
they are in the right order to merge and decode. My question is, when i click
ok, where does that download go? I have searched all my harddrives for the
files downloaded and they cannot be found. Yet when I check comcast for my
newsgroup download usage, it shows that those files were downloaded.
I'm at a loss, HELP anyone? Is there a step that I am missing in my attempt
to download those binaries?? BTW my operating system is Vista Ultimate 64
bit.

You need to download the sections first and then C&D them.

Are your settings for the Comcast news server in Windows Mail set to
download "all messages"?
Click on the news server name in your folder list>right click on your
Binaries group>synchronization settings>"all messages".

When you select each section of a broken apart message, and select combine
and decode, that should open a new mail window with the combined message
showing as an attachment/s.
You can then open the resultant attachment or right click and save it to
your drive.

At what stage do you lose the combined message?

Also ensure that WM has all its defaults set: Default Programs can be
accessed either via the start menu or in the Control Panel.

HTH?

After it combines and decodes it should open a windows with the result.
Save it from that window.

just disappears after decoding.???? I guess something may be corrupted or a
driver is missing???
