Can't Send e-mails

I keep getting a error? What I am doing wrong??
I am attempting to send an e-mail, however I keep getting this message please help

The host 'hotmail' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly.
Subject 'Emailing: Pam Resume', Account: 'hotmail', Server: 'hotmail', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

'hotmail' is not a valid server name.

A Hotmail connection doesn't work with Windows Mail anyway.

You may want to download and install Windows Live Mail, which
does work with Hotmail:

I am having the same problem whoever posted input 587 and that other stuff I
tried like you said but, it still won't work I can recieve emails but, cannot
email out or even send pictures out Can someone help me peasefamily@live.com

'hotmail' is not a valid server name. If you want to use a Hotmail email
address
you will have to download and install Windows Live Mail first:

You'll have to ask live.com for instructions for setting up to use their
email
servers if you want to use an email address there. If they don't have
instructions for Windows Mail yet, use their instructions for Outlook
Express but under Windows Mail instead.
