Inbound Emails Not Downloading Automatically

In order to receive emails I have to click on the Send/Receive down arrow
and then click on Windows Mail (Default). Can anyone help me eliminate this
extra step?

Go to Tools>Accounts>select your account>properties>General Tab>tick the box
to include this account, (near the bottom) apply/OK
