Contacts and Sending Email
After painstakingly sorting 400+ contacts into folders, I needed to send an
email. After creating a new email, I clicked the "To" button and was shocked
to find that none of the folders that I created in the "Contacts" were there.
I would have to sort through all the people in order to find the ones I
wanted. Yet, when I click on the "Contacts" button, everyone is listed in
their respective file folders.
Previously I was using Outlook Express. My "Address Book" had all my
contact people in file folders and when I pressed the "To" button, the list
of people displayed just as they were in my "Address Book" - in file folders.
Now that I am using Vista and Windows Mail, how can I get to see my
"Contacts" in file folders when sending a new email out?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

RE: Contacts and Sending Email
I have a similar problem. I tried to transfer all of my addresses from
Outlook Express, but no avail. I have a folder with my contacts, but when I
transferred them to Windows Vista (which has no heading for addresses) I only
get e-mail address, nothing else. To be usable as addresses I must post
individually other information, which defeats its purpose. Very unhappy
with Visa and especially with Windows Mail. Can anyone give a substantial
answer.
Thank you, Irene V in NJ

Re: Contacts and Sending Email
The answer is "You can't".
You can make all the folders you want, but they won't be recognized when you
compose a message.

Hi Holistic Healer,
The only way you will see them in folders is to open the Contacts
folder itself. When you click "TO:", you will see all the email
addresses listed with no folders no matter how they are organized in
folders.
You can make Contact Groups to organize them some more. Contact Groups
will be listed a group instead if individually. This tutorial will show
you how.
'Contacts' ( http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/69738-contacts.html)
Hope this helps,
Shawn
