I think you've missed the point on this one. The problem is that say you've
got 18 new messages, unread in your inbox, the little blue number in brackets
by the side of the word Inbox says 18. If you then delete, (I use
shift+delete), ten of those messages, it still says 18. If you clear all
messages completely, it still says 18 whether you read them or delete them.
Another problem I've just seen is that I previously had no messages at all in
my inbox but when I received one and it was unread, brand new, there was no
little blue number, nada. It didn't indicate that I'd received a new message.
This is definitely a bug. Basically the inbox counter doesn't seem to be
hooked up properly.
