Windows Mail vs AT&T Yahoo Mail

I do not like using Yahoo Mail. It is too messy. I far prefer to use Vista
Windows Mail. The problem is that some of the time Yahoo hijacks my mail
before Windows Mail gets a chance at it. I have Windows Mail set to check the
e-mail once per minute. A couple of days ago I sent a request to ATT/Yahoo
support asking how I can stop Yahoo from downloading my e-mail. No response
yet. Can anyone help me with this?

First of all, downloading email through Windows Mail once per
minute is way too rapid. You are likely to 'hang' the mailbox on the
server if a new download starts before the previous one finishes.
The lowest I would go is 5 minutes.

What do you mean by Yahoo downloading your email? Yahoo is
a website on the Internet. By itself it can't do anything to your email.
Do you have some sort of other email program that has 'Yahoo' as
part of its name? I'm not familiar with it. I also have AT&T Yahoo
email, which downloads through Windows Mail. I understand I can
also go to Yahoo's mail website in Internet Explorer, and after
logging in with my AT&T username and password, I can access my
webmail. Is that what you are talking about? If so, just don't go to
Yahoo's mail website.

When a POP client like Windows Mail downloads email, it can
only get emails that are in the webmail Inbox. Any emails sitting in
different folders, like Bulk, will normally not be downloaded. Since
I want all of my AT&T Yahoo mail downloaded to Windows Mail,
I have configured the webmail settings such that under Options,
POP Access, I have selected "I want to receive all messages,
including those that SpamGuard thinks are spam."

It sounds like we have the same ISP. Lets take your response to this thread
as an example. A little over an hour ago I made sure that the Bulk folder in
Yahoo mail was empty. A few minutes ago I checked Windows Male and found no
new messages. I then opened the Yahoo site and entered my username and
password. I found one new message in Bulk. It was your reply to this thread.
It still has not shown up in my Windows Mail inbox. It still seems that Yahoo

Gary, I think that was the information that I needed. SpamGuard, so far, has
put all of the e-mail that I have received in the Bulk folder. To my
knowledge at least 95% of all these messages have not been spam. I have
changed it so that all messages are to be downloaded. I'll let you know if
