RE: Annoying validate your user name and password pop up box.
I'm in exactly thr same position as Mojo, nothing for 3 days. Also, I
foolishly forgot if user name and password are case sensitive. Gone crazy
with trying.
Do you know if, as I only signed up 5 days ago if it's possible to
reset/restart Windows Mail. I've no files/messages to loose????
Thanks for any help/ideas

RE: Annoying validate your user name and password pop up box.
Thanks for that Peter, but the edit function seems not to be available in
that situation.
Also, I think a total reset might require some more fundamental actions.
BUT, I am a novice so any guidance will be gratefully received.
I'm told from another source that my ISP INCOMING details may not be
correct! I have sent just 2 emails since I started but have not received any.
I know that 2 have been sent to me but returned! What now??

RE: Annoying validate your user name and password pop up box.
What error do you get when you click on send/receive(at the top of windows
mail)?

RE: Annoying validate your user name and password pop up box.
No error message. Just like Mojo, it keeps recycling the box asking for Name
and password!

Re: Annoying validate your user name and password pop up box.
Something has corrupted your password store. That something is
likely to be your antivirus. Windows Mail is not compatible with
most McAfee and Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.
After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see
http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3
If after doing the above, the problem is not resolved, delete the
mail account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate that account.
