Re: Spelling corrector
Start Windows Mail
Click the Tools menu and choose Options...
Click the Spelling tab
From the Language drop-down, select English (default choice)
Click OK

Note: In step 2, make sure that you select the Tools menu from the main window, not the New Mail message window.

Re: Spelling corrector
When I do that, it only list American, French, German and Spanish. How do I
get English or Hebrew?

Problem viewing messages
I have an intermittent issue with messages. Sometimes the messages can be
viewed through the preview pane, but when I open them, the opening window is
transparent, i.e. the window opens, but the message isn't inside it. Also,
the window is translucent, in that I can see the objects behind it, even if
I grab it and move it around. Once this happens, I no longer can send or
receive messages. It doesn't error out, just doesn't do anything. Only
solution I've found is to restart Vista. It sometimes does this several
times a day, or not for days. Can't seem to find a pattern to the lock up.
Any ideas ?

Thanks, George

Re: Problem viewing messages
Windows Mail often behaves erratically when interfered with by
some antivirus programs. Windows Mail is not compatible with
most McAfee and Norton security programs. Those will need to
be uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

Re: Spelling corrector
Only those four languages are available for spell checking in Windows Mail.
If you must have other languages, switch to Outlook or Thunderbird.
