Post the complete error and double check that the POP3 server name is
correct along with the username and password.

That's the clue. looks like you have entered the words "POP3" in the server
details box instead of the actual server that your ISP uses....

Re: POP3 COULD NOT BE FOUND
Tools | Accounts
Double click on the mail account
Click on the Servers tab
Fill in the type of account (POP3 or IMAP) then fill in the server names.

I don't know what ISP you are connected so I can't give you any idea what
the server names would be.

Re: POP3 COULD NOT BE FOUND
I have seen where quite a few are having problems with there POP3 and SMTP
accounts. I had the same problem and here is how I resolved it.
While in windows mail click on the TOOLS MENUE at the top. Click on ACCOUNTS
in this menue. The first screen should show you your mail account. Highlight
this account and click on PROPERTIES This screen should show your personal
account name. If there is noyhing in this box you can type in anything you
want as it has no bearing on the operation of your mail . At the top of this
box click on SERVERS This shows your POP3 and SMTP connections. If there is
nothing listed in these two boxes then do the following. Lets say your ISP
is hotmail as an example. Under POP3 type in mail.hotmail.com Under
SMTP type in mail.hotmail .com Then click APPLY and OK Back out of
this setup and try send & receive again. This should work. It worked for me.
Don't forget to substitute your ISP for the example I used.

Don't guess. These fields should be filled with whatever your ISP or mail
provider told you to use. If you forgot, your ISP probably has a web page
with that information.
