Emptying Deleted Items Folder

I can not empty the deleted items folder by any method. The Empty command
does nothing except delete one file. Deleting one file at a time eventually
results in the Unknown Error message. It appears many others are having
similar problems in other folders.

Is there a fix available?

An MS-MVP sent me this link for a problem I had. He said that it usually
works for stuck mail in any folder. You certainly shouldn't be any worse
off if it doesn't work so it is probably worth a try.
