Lost email after Vista Trail expired
What happened is my son removed the program since everything was in the
function mode. No emails were able to be sent out. My plan was to upgrade.
Now that the program has been removed so have all of my email. However, when
I fist turn on my computer, it indicates that I have 81 unread emails.....but
where are they. All of my contacts are gone, EVERYTHING!!!!! How can I get
those lost emails? I'm back using Outlook Express 6...with just my recent
emails. Can someone help me, or is it hopeless? I'm not wiz on the
"confuser" but can get around a little.

Thanks

Re: Lost email after Vista Trail expired
Your contacts will be stored from Vista as .contact files and they are xml
files that you can open in XP in Notepad if you want the information in
them, but I don't you'll be able to backwards import them with ease.

The messages are easy. Just search for *.eml and when you find them, just
drag them from Explorer overtop an OE message list window and drop them and
OE will incorporate them into the message store.

Or it can be done more eloquently with my OEX program (www.oehelp.com/OEX/)
<G>.

Regardless, the nice thing about the eml file format for the messages in
Vista or XP is that they are easily compatible because they can be dragged
and dropped that way.
