swith identity problem
I am having trouble trasferring over our Outlook Express accounts. In XP my
husband and I shared one user account in Windows and had separate identities
in Outlook Express which worked just fine. Since you can't have separate
identities in Windows Mail I set up separate use accounts for us. How can I
import the two identities into separate user accounts? I tried using Easy
Transfer and putting everything into both of our accounts. That seems to
work OK for me because my husband's identity is a "sub-identity" folder and
I can eliminate that as well as all the double email addresses. But in his
account he can't eliminate my stuff because it is a "higher order" folder.
Does that make sense? Also, all our emails are coming in in triplicate!
Please help. Thank you!

Re: swith identity problem
If you have the dbx files backed up for each Identity then figure out which
is yours and which is his. (you can probably look in the directory and see
the dbx filenames to figure that out as they will match the folders you each
have). Then in your user space go to File | Import | Messages and choose to
import from a directory and choose the appropriate directory of dbx files
for you. Then do the same for him.

You will probably encounter problems if you don't do it exactly because its
a bit tricky and buggy. Do it exactly as listed here:
www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#oe2wm and that should get you both working okay.

Also to put in a plug, my OEX program works for WinMail and OE and it will
allow you to import messages from OE dbx files just by pointing to them.
And it will remove all duplicates (and triplicates <G>) from a folder with a
click of a button. As well as having other features: www.oehelp.com/OEX/
