web email addresses open 40 internet explorer windows

When I click on a internet web address. The computer opens 40 new explorer
windows and they all say can not connect to this address??? Does anyone know
what is wrong?? This is a new computer with windows mail and vista OS.

Go to Control panel | Default programs and make WinMail default and see if
that fixes it.
