Sort list in "Send to'
Ok I'm hoping this is a stupid question but when you goto add a "to" or "cc"
address the list has no column to sort by nickname, just full name or email,
neither of which is what I want to sort by, I always sorted by nicknames in
OE now WM has broken that.

Re: Sort list in "Send to'
Looks like you can't do it.

Re: Sort list in "Send to'
That 'Select Recipients' dialog is a weird animal.
Here's the real nugget I just discovered. Clicking the sort arrow in the
'Name' header of the 'Select Recipients' dialog cycles thru FOUR options:
FullName ascending
FullName descending
Last, First ascending
Last, First descending
If a contact has a FullName/filename of 'LastName, FirstName', there is no
apparent difference. But if you allow the default FullName contruction of
'FirstName LastName', or if you edit FullName to be some arbitrary text, the
difference becomes apparent.

Re: Sort list in "Send to'
Best thing I can think of:
Open your Contacts folder.
Sort on Nickname.
Move any contact without a nickname to a temp folder.
Export your remaining contacts to a .csv file, be sure to override defaults
and include firstname, lastname, middle name, and nickname.
Delete those contacts from the contacts folder (to avoid duplicates)
Import the .csv file you just created, but use 'Change Mapping...' to map
Nickname -> Name and Name -> Nickname.
Move your contacts without nicknames back into the Contacts folder.
See my response to Steve about toggling the names displayed in the 'Select
Recipients' dialog.

Re: Sort list in "Send to'
I'd think it would just be easier to open up the contacts window with the
Nickname displayed and then one can sort by Nickname and he can compose that
way instead of using Send to.
