Message Rules concerning crossposts or (To: line)
Sorry if this is in the wrong group but there doesn't appear to be a vista
newsreader specific group.

Is there still no means by which to define a rule for dealing with
newsgroup messages that have been crossposted? This is the single largest
source of garbage traffic in usenet. I was so looking forward to finally
having a better fit solution to filtering nonsense than creating bloated
killfiles or using a third party reader. Please someone tell me I'm
overlooking what should have (imho) been the one improvement made to this
newsreader after all these years?

joe

Sorry about posting two different (subject) messages concerning this but the
reader showed a "subject" related error message when I attempted to post the
first thereby implying it hadn't posted. mea culpa..

Vista has no way to make a rule about cross posted messages.

Good then at least my researching skills haven't entirely eroded. The real
question is, after all these years, why not? Goodness knows it isn't as if
no one has asked for it!

If I were to bother spending half an hour on it I'm sure I could list 30
things we're been asking for for eight years that still aren't there. They
add things no one asked for (and some of them even work), but not what we've
asked for except a new way of storing messages.
