Background Screen

Is there any way to change the color of the background screen? the blaring
white screen is very anoying

Only by changing globally the background window color.

Steve, how would one go about doing that, I'm new to Vista

Same as in other Windows versions. Right click the Desktop and go to
Personalize | Appearance and you'll need the advanced options.
