Re: Vista POP3 Major Problem - Help MS
Hi,
I also switched to Windows Vista recently and since then I've problem
downloading mail off the POP3 server of my DSL internet provider (Tiscali in
Italy). Whenever I open Windows Mail, the client can correctly detect the
number of new messages available on my POP3 account but then it will be
unable to download them and display only a time-out error notice.
Now... I've just read the solution here below, but it's not clear if this
command shoud be run by me on my workstation, or of it should be used by the
internet provider in order to adjust the configuration of their servers so to
eliminate compatibility issues with clients running under Windows Vista.
Please clarify... it could be the solution to all my problems!!! I was
almost going to rol back to Windows XP!
Thank you very much in advance,
Marco

Re: Vista POP3 Major Problem - Help MS
Matt & Steve Cockran, you mentioned to this person who is having problems
with their MS Outlook (timing out when checking mail IN/OUT)
you told them to:
Need to run:
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
Please help me as I don't quite understand where I am to run that?
Thanks, Rebecca

Re: Vista POP3 Major Problem - Help MS
Well Guys.... I've been working on this 'timing out' email problem for 3
days. I've done EVERYTHING to figure it out. Nothing seems to work that I've
tried. Even the mail program that comes with VISTA times out. Just ONCE I've
rec'd mail in the VISTA mail, and every single time thereafter, it TIMES OUT.
Any new suggestions?
