CAN'T LOG ON TO WINDOWS MAIL
Seems like an epidemic of people having problems related to WM connection and
performance! My problem is that each time I open WM, a box pops up asking
which connection to dial-up. I am on cable and do not have a dial-up
connection. I marked a box saying "Never dial-up a connection", but it is
persistent in displaying that box and blocking me from accessing the cable
connection. I'm ready to bail out and end the frustration. Any suggestions?

Re: CAN'T LOG ON TO WINDOWS MAIL
In Windows Mail, go to Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties,
Connection tab, and make sure the settings there are grayed out, indicating
that IE's settings will be used.

When you open Internet Explorer, does it try to dial? If so, go to either
Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options or Control Panel/Internet Options.
Click on the Connections tab. Make sure "Never dial a connection" is
ticked. In fact, all the dial-up settings should be grayed out, indicating
that Vista recognizes the presence of an Internet connection via the LAN.
