Transferring Outlook settings to Vista PC?
I need help to transfer my Outlook 2003 account settings, emails,
folders, and calendar to a Vista PC.

I thought it was going to be easy! I ran the Windows Easy Transfer
Wizard on both PCs, and selected just Outlook 2003. The transfer went
ahead OK, but if I try to import the data I get various errors
depending on the type of data I'm trying to import.

I suspect this is probably a simple task, but I'm making it harder by
almost knowing what I'm doing

Any suggestions?

You can try File | Import in WinMail and see if that will help at all. I
think Outlook has to be installed though for that to work.

I've since found that I can import my message store and folders from
Outlook to OE, so that's a start on the way to WinMail.

However, although there is an OE account settings import wizard, it
seems to be picking up very old versions, from my last ISP! Perhaps
this is a question for another group.

Transferring Outlook contacts and Calenday to Vista PC - SOLUTION

I thought I would share the solution.

I found a great utility called iAppoint that will export all your
Outlook Contacts to a single vcf file for direct import into Windows
Mail, and also exports all your Calendar events (within a given range)
into a single ics file for direct import into Windows Calendar.

See: http://www.xs4all.nl/~hagemans/

And the best thing is, it's free! The author accepts PayPal donations.

Re: Transferring Outlook settings to Vista PC?
You can ask here, but we need more details on exactly what you are trying to
do.

For the messages you need to copy the dbx files to a blank directory and
then use File | Import | Messages in WinMail. See
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4
