Thanks for your reply.
Did as you suggested (Tools/Options/Read and put a check mark in the Box to
Read All in Plain Text.). This did not appear to make any difference.
The number 10 appears in brackets beside the Junk E-mail item in the left
pane, but no messages show in the right pane.
Also, I have a "Message Rule" to automatically move mail items into Junk
E-mail when certain text appears in the Subject (put there when my ISP's
mail system suspects the email is SPAM). This Rule used to work, but now
the messages with this text in the subject do not get moved, even when I use
the Message Rule dialog's Apply Now button - the messages stay in the Inbox.
I created a new folder (under Local Folders) in Winmail and changed the
Message Rule to move the messages to that folder and the Message Rule
worked - the messages with the specified subject got moved to the new folder
when I used "Apply Now".
If I look in the Junk E-mail folder with Explorer, I see 10 .eml files and a
winmail.fol file.
If I right click on Junk E-mail and select Empty Junk E-mail folder, I get a
message box that says "Some of the items in the 'Junk E-mail' folder could
not be deleted. An error has occurred."
Well, no kidding! But what "error" and how to fix it?
I see several occurrences of the following entries in the Application Event

It is perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
