Windows Mail Contacts sub-folders
I have my Windows Mail contacts grouped in sub-folders, which I can see when
I open the main Contacts folder. However, when I am writing a New Mail
Message and want to select recipients in the To: box, the listing is not
grouped by sub-folders, but is one long listing. I would like to not have
to scroll down through this long list. What has to be done to have the
recipients grouped by sub-folders in the Select Recipients window (as it is
in the main Contacts folder)? Thanks.

RE: Windows Mail Contacts sub-folders
I have exactly the same problem after I moved from Windows XP to VISTA (Mail
instead of Outlook Exp). I can't believe the idiots at Microsoft would do
this. It's bad enough that one has to recreate the complete address book (for
some other unknown reason one cannot export/import the address book (WAB)
from Outlook Exp - you get just one humungous list of email addresses and
have to painstakingly move each entry into subfolders).

If you find a solution to this problem, please do post it, or let me know
directly (mvkennedy@ieee.org). Otherwise, I'm afraid I will have to look for
an alternative mail program.

Re: Windows Mail Contacts sub-folders
Unfortunately, that's how Windows Mail contacts work.
The Contacts feature works better in Windows Live Mail where you can
select a group from the To box, and (even better!) you can expand that
group (if desired) and omit selected members of that group.
In WM, the group is an all-or-nothing proposition.

Try WLM, you may like it:
