I can't send emails via Windows Mail
Hi
I got a different one here for you. I can send emails in WM when it's just
to one person or when I'm replying to someone's email but, I've just tried to
send to a group email with attachments (which I've done previously with
Outlook with no problems) and I get the following error and yes I have
followed the troubleshoot instructions with no luck. My ISP provider is
Optusnet, I use Nortons.
Error reads:
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'xxxx.xxxx@xxxxx.com.au;'. Subject 'OCTOBER
PERFUME PRICE LIST', Account: 'mail.optusnet.com.au', Server:
'mail.optusnet.com.au', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1
<xxxx.xxxx@xxxxx.com.au;>... Relaying denied. Proper authentication
required.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number:
0x800CCC79
PS: ( I have put the xxx to hide the person's name and company - but there
is nothing wrong with email address I've used it before).

If anyone can give me some assistance on this it would be greatly appreicated.

Thanks
Cams

Go to Tools, Accounts, select the mail.optusnet.com.au account,
Properties, Servers. Make sure "My server requires authentication"
is checked.
