Windows Mail - Auto Expand Folder List on Load?
No sure if ive missed it anyway but is there any way to get Windows Mail to
load up and as default have the Folders List automatically expanded?

I use IMAP and folders with pre-filtered mail so "inbox" selected isnt
really useful. Currently i have to manually click to open the tree under
this to see my folders and which have new messages.
Is there any way to save the customised layout for the folder view so i dont
need to do this every time i load the program?

Click Options on the Tools menu. On the general tab the second item is what
you need to check: Automatically expand folders with unread messages.
