Windows Mail - yahoo web-based mail- Not working
How do I configure Windows Mail (Vista Home Premium Ed.) to work with Yahoo
web-based mail?
I understand nothing of IMAP, STMP, or POP3...that's all greek to me. I have
attempted to do this on my own using jnstructions that I obtained from Yahoo.
However, these instructions unfortunately are for MS Outlook 98 and 2000.
Has anyone had problems with Yahoo or has anyone using Yahoo with Windows
Vista Home Premium ed. successfully accessed this programme? Please, help me
out here to explain in simple terms how to correctly set it up?
Thank you for your assistance!

Re: Windows Mail - yahoo web-based mail- Not working
Windows Mail cannot access web-mail accounts, only POP & IMAP.
If you have the free Yahoo email account, I think in the US & Canada, you
don't have access to their POP servers. You have to pay for the premium
service to get to use the POP servers.

Re: Windows Mail - yahoo web-based mail- Not working
I have exactly the same problem as Mike. Yahoo do give POP3 and SMTP
addresses along with SSL,port numbers but Windows mail rejects with error
messages

Re: Windows Mail - yahoo web-based mail- Not working
Eureka! I've cracked it. Go into your Yahoo mail and click 'options' top
right. Then click 'pop access and forwarding'. Then click the button next to
'web & pop access' and then click 'save' top left. Incoming mail
address=pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk and outgoing=smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk. next go to
Windows Mail and all the mail you can read on Yahoo will load. This also
worked for email from my t-mobile phone( in the UK)

Re: Windows Mail - yahoo web-based mail- Not working
Your spelling of "programme" tells me you are probably in the UK,
and as such you have free POP access to Yahoo.uk accounts.
Just follow these instructions:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/uk/mail/pop/pop-06.html
Although the instructions are for Outlook Express, they will work for
Windows Mail.
