Cannot send email when clicking a link on a web page
When I click on an email link on a web page I get this message:
Could Not Perform This Operation Because the Default Mail Client Is Not
Properly Installed.
This is a new computer with Vista installed
Any thoughts?

Hi Whizzer,
You will need to make sure that Windows Mail as all of it's default
associations set to it. This tutorial will show you how.

Re: Cannot send email when clicking a link on a web page
To correct this problem, go to Default Programs, which you
can reach either from the Start menu or the Control Panel,
then click the first item: "Set your default programs."
After a few seconds a list of programs comes up.
Click on Windows Mail. If all is well, it will respond
"This program has all its defaults."
If it reports less than all (3) of its defaults, fix it by selecting
the option indicated by the first green arrow.

Re: Cannot send email when clicking a link on a web page
Hi Gary
I did this and only 2 defaults set so set 3rd one as advised but did not fix
the problem. I also get message "navigation to the website was cancelled" and
about 60 pages that I have to x out of. Its a brand new computer from a
computer store with Vista. I paid a techie to install it $260. Is this an
issue with Vista itself or did he forget to do something? He is hopefully
coming back today but I don't know if I should pay him the $100 an hour or
not. Thanks Brenda53@shaw.ca

Re: Cannot send email when clicking a link on a web page
The issue with many web pages opening has been experienced
by quite a few people. I don't know what causes it, but there is a
fix:
