Anybody else having problems opening or saving att's. in Mail?
Hi guys, having some problems since I downloaded about 11 Microsoft updates
on the 15th August, if I try to save an attachment in Mail to another
location I get an Error-Command failed to execute, if I just try and open
it....nothing, even old attachments wont open now. As a temp. fix I've been
opening or saving them from my hotmail account which works ok, I've tried
system restore but at least one of the Microsoft updates can't be removed
once installed so no joy there. Another problem that cropped up (wrong thread
I know but maybe related) at the same time was in IE7 when trying to download
some stuff/programs, the dialogue box would come up ask you where you wanted
to save it to, the green progress bar would then show the file being
downloaded, after completion you go to the location.....nothing there, zippo,
I tried running the program nothing happens. As a temp. fix and by mucking
about I found disabling the User Account Control you can then download
normally but obviously with the protection UAC offers you switched off, it's
also a pain having to restart your computer every time you switch off/on UAC,
so I would appreciate any comments or fixes to this, cheers in advance guys,
Wanchip.
ps. I've also tried disabling my AV (Kaspersky IS version 6.0) no joy.

RE: Anybody else having problems opening or saving att's. in Mail?
Same problem--same result as others--none. Some attachments seem to open OK,
but others "fail to execute"--not cute!
