emails received are duplicates of previously received for a month

When I opened Windows Mail today, it took forever to receive my mail. When
it was done I understood why it had taken so long. I received not only
today's mail, but duplicates of every email I had received for an entire
month. What gives with that. This is the first time that has ever happened.

Possibly the mail server crashed, so the server admin reloaded it from
an older backup.
