What makes you think using your real email for your Windows Mail *mail*
account will compromise it?
News accounts are a different matter entirely, of course. *Never* use your
real email in connection with any public news account, unless you set up a
special email just to trap spam. You are not required to supply a real email
address in connection with Windows Mail news accounts. You can simply make
one up.
I've been doing exactly that for years in OE and now in Windows Mail. For
the Microsoft public groups, I'm currently using:
pvdg@toadstool.edu
(Go get it, harvester bots!
In my real email account (used in my Windows Mail mail account), I get no
more than 2 - 4 spam messages a week. Pretty good for having the same email
for over 4 years.
