Our box and draft box
Every time I compose an email, a box pops up that says it will be stored in
"Outbox" until I'm ready to send. First of all, it sends it right away &
sometimes I want to save it until I'm sure I want to send but it sends right
away anyway. How can I fix this problem.

Hi cul8rm8,
Check this setting in Windows Mail:
1. Click Tools.
2. Click Options.
3. Click Send tab.
4. Uncheck "Send messages immediately"
5. Click Ok.
They will then be sent when you either close Windows Mail or send them
manually.
Hope this helps,
Shawn

Shawn,
Might the Tools > Options > General tab, Check for new messages every...
setting have to do with this also?

Re: Our box and draft box
Have you looked at the obvious setting:
Tools, Options, Send, uncheck "Send messages immediately."
IF that checks out OK, it may be interference from your antivirus.
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee or Norton
security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled.
Replace with a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:

Cal Bear '66,
This is a good idea. I am not sure if Windows Mail sends the Outbox
messages when it is just checking for new messages on it's own. It
would be worth a try to uncheck it and see. I would try it myself to
see, but I'm not using Windows Mail any longer.

This is true, I would uncheck it as well to test and see. You can
always check it again if not.

Click the red X to close the message you are composing. It will ask if you
want to save the message. Answer 'Yes' and the message will be saved in the
Drafts folder. Open it from there and you can edit it or send it.
