Windows Vista Ultimate upgrade error code 80070005

After purchasing the upgrade for Vista Ultimate it consistently fails at the
"Expanding Files" with the above error code. I have tried both the source
files on the IBM X60 laptop and the Upgrade Anytime Disc. I have seen many
instances of this on the web, but no solutions.

Usually when a Microsoft OS doesn't install it is bad hardware somewhere.

Are you sure you dont have bad ram. I kept on getting errors when I tried to
install Windows home server on a machine with bad ram.

Are you upgrading from Windows XP to Vista or from what?
