Vista upgrade

I am trying to upgrade from XP Home to Vista Home Premium. The installation
went well with no issues. After installation, though, the desktop does not
come up. I can call task manager and manually start explorer.exe but how do
I get Vista to y?start it automaticall

Personally I would do a clean install, explorer.exe had problems with my
system, crashing when numerous functions were used, like opening my
computer. As a patch if you want a patch, you could put a shortcut in the
startup folder.
