Unable to Reinstall Vista 64-bit
My Computer
AMD Athlon 64 x2 4800+ Socket 939
Epox 9NPA Ultra with an Nforce 4 chipset
2GB RAM DDR400
1 x 150GB WD Hard Drive (2 partitions, each 75GB)
2 x 320GB Seagate Hard Drives in Raid 1
The story
I installed Vista Ultimate 64-bit on the second parition of the WD Hard
Drive after XP Pro was on it. (XP Pro is working and has been working fine)
I found out that Vista did not recognize the raid 1 as such and it was
displaying two hard drives instead of the raid.
I reformatted that second partition and tried to reinstall vista using the
drivers i had for my motherboard (XP-64bit drivers). Vista did not like that
and it stopped the installation after sometime.
I then downloaded the latest Nvidia platform 64-bit drivers and put the
drivers i need in my usb drive.
I reformatted that second parition yet again...now this time the vista
installation will go not go far...it never arrives to the first screen that
allows one to choose to install or upgrade. It just hangs...
The problem:
I am not able to reinstall vista because the installation hangs from the
beginning.
has anyone experienced this?
Thanks for any ideas or recommendations.
