Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 Microphone Level Maxed???

Can Anyone Help. I Am Having Problems With The Built In Mic. I Am Running
Windows Vista Ultimate Together With The Latest Driver Release For This Cam.
Unfortunately The Microphone Has Gone Weird. If I Go To Sounds In Control
Panel Or View The Level In Windows Live Messenger The Green Mic Level Is
Always Up To The Max Even Though I Am Not Speaking. I Have Reduced The Level
To Half But This Makes No Difference.
No One Can Hear Me And When I Record A Voice Clip And Send Through Messenger
It Is Simply A Buzzing Sound.
I Have Tried Swapping USB Slots, Installing Software After Cam Is Plugged In
Aswell As Make Sure That The Cam Is Away From Speaker Interferance.
This Is Starting To Bug Me And Would Greatfully Appreciate Any Advice Please
