Installation stops

I just recieved my Vista Express upgrade and i followed all instructions but
when while its installing it stops at 20% when its gathering files...please
help

How long have you left it at that stage? It can take a considerable time
for an upgrade. The more programs that you have installed, the longer the
'gather' stage will take.

Did you run the Upgrade Advisor on your computer before attempting the
upgrade?

Did you uninstall any antivirus/anti-spyware utilities, and any other
software/utilities that were flagged as incompatible by the Upgrade Advisor?
Any burning software should also be uninstalled before upgrade.

Be sure to check for Vista-compatible versions of your software for
installation after upgrade.

Ive left it at that stage for 5 hours and i dont have that many programs
installed. I have also ran the Upgrade Advisor and it says that it is good to
upgrade. I also removie all antivirus/anti-spyware utilities, and other
software and utilities.
